Said serviceable river is found along the city boarder and leads out towards the Ruins. It'll take a drop into a small waterfall that heads off for the canyon. If you decide to swim, be careful not to let the current take you too far, else you'll find yourself drifting into the Miasma with only canyon walls around you.
