ACTIVITY CHECK FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

As this is a brand-new game, there's no history for things like Activity Check to refer to yet to know what is expected of players in the game. The mod staff felt that it is only right that we establish AC requirements upfront, so that no one is surprised later on.

This is not an AC post. We are not asking you to post your activity - obviously there's not been enough yet. However, this IS what future AC posts will look like. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment with your questions. We are looking at having the first AC on/around December 1st.

You may notice that the AC for Kismet Loop is very similar to that of Re/Alignment. One, we want the transition to be as smooth as possible. Two, we decided that we really like how RA's AC was run, so we're sticking with it. This includes the two-month spread between checks (versus monthly), as well as the usage of an Activity Summary. Even in a smallish game, the mods can't be everywhere and know everything that's going on, try as we might. The Summaries are great for helping us keep up on the game as a whole, as well as for you to be able to look back on what your character - or others' characters - have done over time. It will also help give us ideas on how one or more Guardians may approach your character for various reasons.

*~*~*~ACTIVITY CHECK!~*~*~*

AC RULES:

++ Copy/paste and fill out the above textbox in a comment to this post. You may comment once for all of your characters or make separate comments for each, as you choose.
++ This check is for activity spanning from MONTH/DATE to MONTH/DATE.
++ You will need two examples of activity plus an Activity Summary for each character in-game. (See below for details on each.)
++ Characters accepted in the most recent Application round are not required to participate in this AC. They will, however, be expected to provide AC starting with the next check.
++ You have one week from the date of this posting to submit AC for all of your characters.

EXAMPLES OF ACTIVITY:
++ A network post made by your character, provided you've made an effort to answer replies that the post receives.
++ A log made by your character, provided you've made an effort to answer replies that the log receives. A closed narrative may also be used as an AC example, but it must be at least 500 words long (not counting subject line or header content [Who, What, etc]).
++ A network post your character has tagged into with at least 10 comments made by your character (this may be made with one 10-comment thread or two threads of 5 or more comments each, all made by your character).
++ A log your character has tagged into with at least 5 comments made by your character (this may be made with one 5-comment thread or two threads of 3 or more comments each, all made by your character).

You may provide two of the same KIND of activity (two posts, an open log and an eligible narrative, two 10-comment threads, etc). A comment chain counts as one comment for purposes of AC. A comment chain is a series of 2 or more replies in a row by one character, such as to depict a range of reactions, before the other character can reply.

ACTIVITY SUMMARY:
In addition to the two examples of activity provided, you must also provide an activity summary.

An activity summary consists of a small paragraph explaining what your character has been up to since the previous Activity Check (or since arriving in the game if you are new.) This can be as simple or as detailed as you would like! At the minimum, be sure to hit any events your character has participated in (either game events or character plots). If you'd like to get more detailed (such as drawing up CR charts, mentioning what Guardian they've talked with or where/with whom they're living, or adding links) we're not going to stop you, as this will make a handy future reference for you as well as for us!

The activity summary will help the mods in determining future Guardian plans or interactions for your characters, and especially will keep us from missing anything important about your character. In no way will your activity summary have any effect on you passing or failing activity check, unless it is completely absent. In other words, doing the minimum on this won't hurt you, although going above and beyond can certainly help!

EXCLUSIONS AND EXEMPTIONS:
Characters are only expected to participate in an Activity Check if they have been in the game for a month or more. Generally, this means anyone who arrived in the most recent application cycle won't be expected to provide any samples of activity or a summary for that AC.

In order to qualify for an exemption to the Activity Check, you must have posted a hiatus of 2 weeks or longer to the official hiatus page during the period covered by the Activity Check. You may not request back-to-back exemptions, regardless of any length hiatus you may take. If you are unable to meet the requirements for activity due to real-life circumstances/an emergency, you MUST communicate with the mods before the end of the Activity Check.

FAILING ACTIVITY CHECK
If you fail to post to an Activity Check within the week that it is open and you have not contacted the mods beforehand, then any characters not posted will be dropped from the game. The mods will put up a list of characters in danger of being dropped at the end of Activity Check, at which point you (the character's player) will have three days to contact the mods and provide AC and an explanation for failing it. After those three days have passed, the drops will be official, and the characters will be removed from the Taken list and Player Contact page.

If you post to the activity check but do not meet the minimum requirements in your Examples of Activity, you will be given a one-week period in which to provide one (or two, as needed to meet the minimum requirement) new example(s) of activity of any kind. If you are able to do so, then you will have passed activity check and be fine (although the 'new' example of activity will not be usable in the next AC.) If you fail to do so, then your character will be dropped.
